<  Rally from February 2015  -  Chemicals Used for Fracking  >

Why have I decided to enagage in war with society again when I have been having so much fun in life for decades?  Well, actually, I returned to war in 2001 when I joined the Tasmanian National Parks Association to keep national parks free of unnecessary clutter!

This time, it's most of Tasmania that is under threat from permanent damage to the ground we stand on!  Lots of people do not want to be poisoned by acid and other chemicals in the ground, waterways and atmosphere!  Neither do they want earthquakes to destabilise the foundations our buildings stand on, many of which could crumble and collapse in the future!   Tasmania still has many heritage buildings and bridges made of stone and brick by convicts in the 1800s. Some of those structures have already suffered from traffic vibration, collisions by vehicles and atmospheric pollution from the increase in technology!

I know most people are too busy getting on with their lives, especially with little or no time left over after battling modern society and its increasingly expensive bills, but I do not have the time available to go to war again either!  However, if I sit here and continue to do nothing like most people have also done from a lack of awareness, the situation will only become worse because it has come too far without our knowledge now!

Having been made aware of this blatant and uncaring destruction, I can no longer ignore it!  I have seen how Queensland is being destroyed - and now I have heard that other Australian states are meeting the same fate. It seems that fracking is widespread in America, and other countries are fighting this as much as Australia is!  If we let mining companies destroy the land we live on, we will lose most, if not all of the big industries in Tasmania! That can be worked out by looking at the Frack Free Tas map -

The map for 2015 in the above link shows a reduced area from the 2014 version, which covered a great deal of the Bass Strait shore that fracking would have wiped out!  Tens of thousands of people - and hundreds of thousands of species of wildlife, plants and organisms in the undergrowth would be poisoned if fracking began here!

What Tasmania could be subjected to is listed in the link below -

Forgetting about the existence of this destructive process for five years is not enough - fracking must be banned FOREVER if Tasmania is to remain as popular with tourists, locals and Australia's potential residents!  If we allow what other communities have, we will lose just about every industry the world respects us for!  People with little or no time can still write a short letter to authorities stating that they do not want to lose their existing lifestyles!

Do nothing about it and the possibilities will increase!

"Frackman" - I still haven't seen this documentary (or "Gasland") and now don't need to now!
I know what is going on, but if you don't, watch this trailer from the past -
